Tulip
Notes:
- Carol, my spouse, has always loved to grow flowers in front of the house. Even before I was privileged to be married to her, I knew this about her. I have been enjoying her spring bulbs especially during this COVID-19 pandemic and the recent earthquake with its aftershocks.
- Earlier today when Carol saw the photo of the tulip on my monitor, she said, “Something that beautiful is growing in my garden?”
- Funny story about the daffodils Carol has grown: Some years ago a 10-year-old boy from the up the street was walking by the house while Carol was working in her garden. This boy noticed the daffodil blooms, which had been especially wonderful that year, were well past their prime. The boy stopped and wailed his disappointment to Carol: “Those flowers were sooo beautiful! Why did you just let them die?”
Thank you for enjoying these blooms with me!

Pretty flowers. I laughed out loud after hearing about the boy and the daffodils dying. Ha-ha!
