The Loge Gallery at the Pioneer Theater Company

Featured the works of thirteen artists during the run of Agatha’s Christy’s Murder on the Orient Express September 23 through October 7, 2023.

My contributions were these eight photographs printed on aluminum with coordinating metal frames:

Sunset over Miami

I was on the bow of a ship as the Sun descended toward the Miami skyline. The swirling clouds in front of the Sun’s disc had a Jupiter-like feel. This was a single-frame photograph taken with one snap of the shutter.

Forth Bridge, Scotland

Like the previous photograph, this one was taken from a ship, here at anchor in the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh, Scotland. As I left the airconditioned stateroom to stand on the balcony, heavy dew condensed on my camera. I knew this was “the money shot,” but I had to wait anxiously for several minutes while the dew evaporated.

Green Door at Tulloch Castle, Scotland

Tulloch Castle is one of many on the Scottish Highlands. The midmorning sun cast these shadows.

The Eiffel Tower

Extraordinarily, I found myself alone inside the Eiffel Tower. I was five stories above ground level, just before closing time. I seized this image and then flew down many, many stairs to avoid missing my bus.

Allium Seed Head

This seed head was in the yard of an abandoned house. Upon viewing this picture, a friend said she was reminded of jewels in their settings.

The Last Grape Leaf

Becker County, Minnesota

One of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes, this one in that state’s remote northwest.

Easter Morning

To get this angle I had to lie on my back and look upside down through the viewfinder. The early morning Sun provided the backlighting and shadows.
