Carol’s Spring Garden
As I gazed at Carol’s flowerbed on Easter Sunday morning, I was struck by the brightness and clarity unusual for early April. But I didn’t know the reason until I lay down on my back and turned my head to the side. Then I saw the the shadows and silhouettes.

Crocuses showing off their contrasting pistils and filaments along with their shadows.

I find daffodils beautiful to look at but difficult to photograph. Please see #7 for more.

Thanks to low angle of the Sun, the golden stigma casts its silhouette on the white petal.

Here the stigma plays peek-a-boo with its the translucent petals while casting a silhouette.
A Neighbor’s Ornamental Pear
On the Tuesday after Easter, I noticed an ornamental pear that had escaped cultivation.

This may be my favorite daffodil picture. Perhaps because daffodils are shy, they gladly share the stage, here with a sprig of pear blossoms.
As always, I am grateful for your interest in my pictures.

Your flower pictures really lifted my spirit and reminded me that we are indeed in the middle of spring even though it feels more like mid-March to me.
My favorite images are the crocus shadows being captured inside the petals. The white one is amazing! That bright yellow stigma with its shadow (as small as it is) is clearly the focal point.
The ornamental pear picture is the silent monarch with its rich color and rhythmical stem. Those buds are just hours away from opening!
Nice work, Michael.
Hi Susie, Even though I took the pictures, I see them anew after I read your comments. I love how you put words to images. With much gratitude, Michael
Really enjoyed the photos. Thank you.
Hi Max, You are welcome, and I thank you for commenting. I am so glad that you connected with the pictures and took the time to tell me. I can hardly wait till we can talk in person. Best, Michael
